Marine Object Recognition by Fusion of Lidar and Video

Lidar sensors became very common for various applications including making high resolution maps, remote sensing, autonomous vehicles and many more. In this project we will evaluate the use of a Lidar sensor installed on an USV (unmanned surface vehicle). Lidar point clouds will be fused with data from video cameras and other sensors in for object recognition and tracking.
Students will learn to use PCL (point cloud library) and other tools.
The project is in cooperation with NAVY.
