Abstract
PrimeSense sensors, also known as “Kinect” combine color and depth tracking techniques in one product. There is a whole field of applications that is developing from this technology, and uses it for interactions between the user and the program using only movements and no touch.
In this project we are using this technology to recognize the movements of a user, in order to move the mouse cursor and in order to make a mouse click. This project include establishing the suited environment to work with the sensor, recognition of user’s gestures, and building of virtual mouse interface.
The interface allows the user to control the position of mouse cursor with the move of one of the hands and replace the mouse buttons with gestures in the same manner.
In this report we will explain how to create a working environment with the sensor, what we can do with it and what are the limitations, and suggest ideas for improvement.
