Electro-Impedance-Tomography, or EIT for short, deals with finding the impedance/admittance distributions of an object, based on weak currents being injected into the object via electrodes, and the measured voltages upon them. The EIT method dates back to the 80’s of the previous century, and similar methods have been used even prior to the 80’s, going back as far as the 40’s, though these early attempts were focused on finding ore deposits (primarily copper), while the modern EIT is focused on medical uses.
